Minoa Marches in St. Patrick’s Parade

Green was the color of the day

… as the Minoa Fire Department proudly marched through downtown Syracuse in the St. Patrick’s Parade on March 15, 2025. Leading the way were our Rescue Pumper and Mini-Pumper, but stealing the spotlight was our beloved 1953 Retired Engine 1, a true crowd favorite. More than 20 firefighters and EMTs represented Minoa, joined by half a dozen other fire companies and hundreds of other marchers along with thousands of spectators.

It’s common knowledge that “Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day,” but more importantly, at the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade, everyone is part of the same joyful community. That was the sentiment from this year’s Grand Marshal, Mayor Ben Walsh of Syracuse, and the Minoa Fire Department whole heartedly concurs.

From excited children scrambling for tossed candy to the lively beats of bagpipes and drums, the streets were alive with music, laughter, and hometown pride. Firefighters, dancers, singers, and so many more came together to celebrate what makes the Syracuse community special.

For the Minoa Fire Department, community isn’t just a word—it’s who we are. We depend on our neighbors, just as they depend on us. The St. Patrick’s Parade was a chance to show our community spirit, share in the fun, and celebrate alongside the people we serve. We were honored to be part of it and can’t wait for next year!
